Enel Chile's sustainability strategy aims to create value through ESG metrics integrated into our investment decisions.
At Enel Chile we have identified four Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for long-term value creation. Our sustainable strategy and our integrated business model allow us to contribute to the achievement of the following: SDG 7 (Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all), SDG 9 (Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive industrialization and innovation), SDG 11 (Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable) and SDG 13 (Take urgent action to address climate change and its impacts).
These relevant SDGs guide us in defining the main pillars of our operations.
Decarbonization of Power Generation: Thanks to our continued commitment to decarbonization, renewable power generation has increased 27% from 2021 levels and accounts for more than half of the 22.2 TWh of total power generated in 2022.
We are the country's largest renewable energy player in the private sector with 8.4 GW of net installed capacity. In 2022, we added 0.8 GW of new renewable capacity built during the year.
This repositioning of our generation portfolio raises our share in zero emission power generation to 63%.
