Enel has a global network of which Enel Chile is part with:
- 1 Innovation Hub (Santiago) through which relationships are managed with all those involved in innovation and represents the main source of exploration for innovative startups and SMEs.
We implement improvements aimed at control and automation, scheduled maintenance and the reliability of information. Among the projects developed in 2022, the following stand out:
RoBoost: global program in which we seek to integrate robotics in the operation and maintenance of our plants, adding value and increasing safety and operational efficiency. Robots allow us to inspect, supervise and monitor Power Generation assets that are at height, in confined spaces or submerged. At Enel Chile we have more than 40 pilots, 27 drones, 14 Smart Glasses, 2 Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and 1 bathymetric boat.
During 2022 we implemented drone flight plans to control the operational conditions of the wind, geothermal, thermo and hydroelectric plants. The role of the drone includes maintenance monitoring, flora control, archaeological sites, emergencies and security. Its main contribution is that it allows us to save costs, in addition to minimizing the risks that are taken in the execution of this type of work carried out by our teams.
Enel Chile has the Open Innovability model, which enables collaboration agreements with start-ups, researchers and other organizations and individuals to continuously transform the current energy model.
During 2022, 90 emerging companies were evaluated throughout Latin America and 2 proofs of concept were initiated with the selected startups.
